Dear Pearson:
I would like to take this opportunity to convey my pleasure
in working with you and everyone associated with the Margia company on the new Armour
Swift-Eckrich meat plant in Junction City, Kansas.
Initially, we were concerned with the schedule and cure
time of the Margia. But as the project progressed, these concerns of your ability to
keep up was erased. As we even requested Margia to slow down at one time. The
detailed schedule you provided made it perfectly clear which path and date the other
trades schedule had to be met. This type of scheduling actually enhanced the
performance of all the trades.
The scheduling of the floor installation for the entire
project was very precise and executed exactly. Everyone on the jobsite was informed
as to what was needed prior to the installation and when it should be done by. This
allowed us a unique opportunity to pressure the other trades to get their work completed
or move on because the floor was coming. During the scheduling meetings, Margia was
never mentioned or asked when will an area be completed. We had a schedule.
In hindsight, we should have incorporated your
scheduling and expertise much earlier on, such as the design and layout phase. There
are many details concerning the slab, slope, saw cut layout, and coving which are easily
overlooked early on. For these areas, we had to work together in the field to make
the changes which required more time, money and reworks.
In closing, as The Haskell Company strives to deliver the
highest quality projects, we rely on highly qualified subcontractors like Margia. At
times we didn't even know you were on the jobsite. If we wanted to know when a
certain area was to be installed or ready for traffic, we just looked at the
schedule. Your scheduling and working together as a team member is commendable.
Again, it would be a pleasure to have Margia Floors on The
Haskell team in the future.
