| April 1999 Margia "Granite" Floors are also
Popular Abroad:
Margia Floors, Inc., the exclusive installers of the Margia
"Granite" Floor system, send their craftsman to meat plants in many foreign
countries to deliver their specialty floor system. Besides America, the Margia
Floor, last year alone was installed in the following Countries: Holland, Canada, Sweden,
Germany, Belgium, Italy and Kuwait. Over the last 25 years that the Margia has been
working in meat plants, the list of countries is multiple.
But, what is more interesting is the clients behind these projects.
For instance the project in Sweden, although very small, it is interesting to note
that the McDonald Hamburger factory insisted on the Margia floor. Back in 1989,
Margia installed their granite floor in the entire factory and since the floor after 10
years still looks like new, the McDonald people insisted on the quality.
In Canada, Margia Floors were installed for Canada's largest meat
processor, Maple Leaf who saw the benefit of installing the Margia in their new Pork
Facility. The same direction was taken by Gruppo Veronesi of Italy, the largest Pork
processor in Italy. Knowing that the Margia Floor will last without any
repairs for more than 20 years made it the floor of choice.
Especially with the larger processors, that look not only at the
expense of the floor when it is new, but more at the total expense of the floor in the
next 20 years, they have come to realize that the Margia Floor is over the life expectancy
of the floor, the most economical alternative. This is probably the reason why not
only the large meat empires abroad but also US firms like Smithfield Foods, Hatfield
Quality Meats, Thorn Apple Valley, Armour Swift-Eckrich, Premium Standard Foods and the
like have chosen the Margia in their new facilities.

Margia "Granite" Floors
wanted in Italy
Margia Floors, Inc., from New Orleans, and its partner
company Ruys Vloeren from Holland, the exclusive makers of the Margia granite floor, has
recently received the contract to install their specialty floor in the second plant of
Gruppo Veronesi in Italy. Just in December, Margia completed a 60,000 sq. ft. sausage
plant facility for Montorsi, another daughter of Gruppo Veronesi meat empire.
Gruppo Veronesi, one of the largest meat and meat
processing companies in Italy with sales in excess of 2 Billion euro's has in excess of 10
plants that slaughter and process pork and poultry meats. From their own feed plant to the
supermarket ready packaging, and not to forget the famous Parma Hams. Gruppo Veronesi is
one of the most important name in the meat industry in Italy and Europe.
The choice was made for the Margia "Granite"
Floor because of its proven life expectancy of 25 years or more, excellent and permanent
anti-slip qualities and good resistance against blood and fatty acids and common cleaning
practices. Six years ago, Margia Floors, Inc. already installed its Margia floor in the
pork slaughterhouse of Veronesi and since this floor still looks like new, or even better,
the choice was simple. The project in Magreta that was just completed is a new 60,000 sq.
ft. expansion for the new luncheon, sausaging and ham processing facility. The project
that will be started in February is the location of Corregio, where further processing,
slicing and packaging takes place.
As always, Margia sends it's own specially trained
craftsmen to ensure the same optimum quality. Working across borders is not new for the
people of Margia. Because of the proven quality the Margia Floor people get request from
all parts of the world and the Margia "Granite" Floor has been installed in meat
factories in 20 different countries. Last year the new Canadian Maple Leaf slaughterhouse
got a Margia Floor and also in Italy, Margia has already installed the floor for Italy's
largest beef processor, Inalca. Since meat and meat related industry is Margia Floors,
Inc.'s core business, they are familiar with all USDA and EC regulations and many times
get involved in the proper design and layout of all floor details.
