Surface protection for KORODUR hard aggregate industrial screeds
against premature drying out.
Description
According to DIN 18353 "Flooring works" and to DIN 18560,
part 7, "screeds subjected to extreme stress", floor toppings have to be
protected against irregular and rapid drying out.
It is not only the correct composition of the hard aggregate and skilled workmanship but
also the correct curing which dictates the quality of a KORODUR flooring. If incorrectly
or inadequately cured the surface hydrates too quickly. This is especially relevant under
conditions of high temperatures, low atmospheric humidity and in areas where there is a
strong air draught. These circumstances increase the evaporation rate many times over and,
therefore, it is strongly recommended that the finished floor is cured.
KOROTEX
Prevents rapid drying out of the concrete screeds. It assists
complete hydration, increases the hardness of the surface and provides greater stability
of the surface.
KOROTEX
Achieves all the advantages as mentioned above and ensures that the
respective DIN Standards are observed. It saves time, money and reduces the immediate
maintenance requirement for the completed floor.
KOROTEX
Has proved its qualities together with KORODUR hard aggregates and
contains no harmful chemicals (e. g. chloride). It contains no paraffin, wax or oil based
sub- stances.

Health and safety
No special precautionary measures necessary, if used in accordance
with manufacturers instructions.
Application Instructions
KOROTEX
To be sprayed undiluted immediately after the KORODUR hard aggregate is laid. It must be
applied only as a thin film upon the fresh screed area. It should be sprayed using
recommended equipment. It should be sprayed as a paint spraying process and care should
betaken to avoid puddling by spraying too much KOROTEX in one place.
KOROTEX
Must be sprayed at the latest after final smoothing of the KORODUR
topping, i. e. as soon as the floor is hardened sufficiently to take foot traffic.
All standard spraying equipment with suitable nozzles is fit for applying KOROTEX. All
equipment should be cleaned carefully with water after use. As an alternative a lambskin
roller may be used.
